When I see a painting of a cabin I smile. I imagine the smells of a wood-burning fireplace and pine trees, and the sensation of cool air pinking my cheeks and making my nose run just a little bit.
I think about s’mores and beef stew, of board games and sleeping bags, of plaid lap blankets and reading good books. It’s all so wonderful!
What is it about a cabin that makes us feel safe and content? Is it the memories we have from earlier experiences or simpler times? Or is it the nostalgia we experience based on stories and literature from history or our childhood?
Whatever it may be, this little Cabin in A Clearing is a precious reminder of so many good things.
