I make a lot of art with female themes and undercurrents. In my early work, I often included the female form, and I sometimes still do. More often now, however, empowerment and strength emerge via color, form, texture and movement. Lately I’ve added words, too, allowing my poet-self more freedom. (Did you know I have a published poetry chapbook? Yep! It’s true! WOMAN’S EVOLUTION)
I AM a powerful woman, although at times I have not felt empowered. I raised two confident, powerful, magical women; and I relish the lessons they teach me as they grow, embrace and progress their wonderful uniqueness. I am proud of so many women around me and realize this tumultuous era is a great time to be a woman. A new day is coming! Let’s embrace our power, shower others with our grace, and grow the goodness around us!
Tomorrow is International Women's Day. I will be wearing purple to symbolize the power and strength, the love and the hope we embody. I encourage you to wear purple too!
